ARE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HALL TO HIRE FOR AN EVENT, OR FOR A REGULAR ACTIVITY?
St Barnabas’ Church Hall Tunbridge Wells is a spacious hall that has the benefit of free parking and is available to hire at a reasonable cost per hour, day, or more.
At the moment we have spaces in the diary to hire the Hall out on:-
Term Time: Thursday afternoons and evenings, Saturdays, Sunday afternoonsand evenings, plus 3.30-6.30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays
School Holiday Time: All weekdays, Saturdays, Sunday afternoons and evenings
Over many years St Barnabas’ Church Hall has been host to a huge variety of events: dozens of children’s parties; keep fit and dance classes; all manner of large and small meetings; dog obedience training classes; family tree clubs; majorettes groups; quiz evenings; local elections; horticultural competitions and so much more.
Cost: the charge for hiring the hall is £17 per hour and a £50 refundable key/damages deposit is also required. You will be asked to complete and return a Hall Booking Form and your Hall booking will be confirmed by letter, or by email.
Location: the Hall is located between St Barnabas’ Church and St Barnabas’ School, where Camden Road adjoins Quarry Road. The Hall address is: Quarry Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 2EY.
Facilities: the dimensions of the Hall are approximately 16.4m long and 8.6m wide (easily large enough to be used as a badminton court, which is marked out). It has a separate, basic kitchen with gas cooker, sink, fridge, microwave oven, toaster, kettles and an assortment of cutlery, crockery, glasses and tea towels. There are male and female toilets. There is also an outside children’s play area, accessed through double doors from the Hall, which can be used when hiring the Hall.
The Hall has 65 adult chairs (stacking wooden and plastic), 50 children’s chairs (stacking plastic) and enough folding tables to seat 100 adults dining-room style. There are also 4 square children’s tables that will seat 4 children around each.
Parking: there is free parking at the front of the hall for approximately 12 cars and for approximately 10 cars to the rear of the hall. A public car park is also available about 100m away along Camden Road.
Viewing the Hall: you are welcome to visit the Hall before you make a booking. The best time to visit would be any Sunday morning around 11.30am, when many of us will be there having coffee after our morning Mass – do join us for a coffee and have a chat about the Hall. Other visiting times can be arranged if necessary.

Other points to note: at the rear of the hall is a small area that houses the Pre-School’s children’s toys and equipment and this area is screened-off by blue screens 1.2m each in height. The Hall is heated, set on timers, by two electric heaters, which have metal guards around them. There are curtains at all windows. The Hall ceiling is pine with 8 electric strip lights for lighting. There are fire extinguishers in the Hall and kitchen and a First Aid Box in the kitchen.
