Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2011
If you have not visited St Barnabas church before, you will be surprised to see all that is on offer during our Heritage Open Days:
- An extensive exhibition illustrating the history of the church, the parish, the school and the town in general over the years.
- The entire 1911 Census of the parish will be available to view.Who was living in your house a century ago?
- Displays by guest organisations – the Friends of Woodbury Park Cemetery http://www.fwpc.org.uk/ and The Tunbridge Wells Project http://www.thetunbridgewellsproject.co.uk/ Photographers David Bartholomew and Christopher Cassidy have been snapping away
recording notable aspects of the town and also inside St. Barnabas and they will be showing the results of their work. - A CD for sale at £5.00 with over 100 historic photographs of St. Barnabas parish school,
including many groups and activities. - Guided tours of the building, including the beautiful Mortuary Chapel, which is generally
closed to the public. - Refreshments will be available.
Opening times will be 10am to 6pm on Saturday 10 September, and 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday 11 September 2011. The parish school in Quarry Road will also be open on the Saturday morning. Access to the church is from Stanley Road and Quarry Road. Parking available.
In addition, the Church Cycle Ride will be held, as usual, on the Saturday and people will be required to sign the riders in and offer refreshments. Click here for more information on this years cycle ride.
