Annual Parochial Church Meeting St Barnabas 2012

Sunday 29thApril

Following the Eucharist service taken by Fr John Gayford, members of St Barnabas Church gathered in the church hall for the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, but before the official proceedings started everybody enjoyed a shared lunch together. Following the lunch the meeting got under way, and some very positive reports from our Rainbows Group, Sunday School, Mother Baby/Toddler Group, St Barnabas School and Deanery Synod were heard. The Church Wardens were re-elected as were Members of the PCC, followed by the reinstating of the St Barnabas church verger, so the scene was set for the coming year with much anticipation and excitement as the strength grows in our church again, with the usual Anglo catholic traditions that have always been maintained here in this parish church.

Pilgrimage to the Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham

Sunday 13th May 2012 Returning by 10:00 pm to St Barnabas

Adult Cost: approx £54.00 TBC
Child Cost: approx £32.40 TBC

The St Barnabas’ Church annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham will take place from Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th of May. The pilgrimage provides a wonderful opportunity for profound spiritual enrichment in the context of this small Norfolk village that has been a pilgrimage destination since the 11th Century.

For more information about the shrine you might like to visit: http://www.walsinghamanglican.org.uk The pilgrimage also offers a splendid chance for fellowship and fun.

At present we have 20 places booked. I propose that we travel by minibus from St Barnabas. This will add just a further £5 to the adult cost identified above.

Parish Magazine Spring 2012

The latest St Barnabas Parish Magazine is out. Packed full of information for all ages, there is a bit of history, some quizzes lots of news on what’s been going on and of course what’s coming up this Easter. If you would like to advertise in our magazine, our rates are very reasonable. We need every advert we can get to cover the costs and we currently print 1000 for distribution through all the doors in our parish!
